About Freetrade

The purpose of this list is to provide employees of Kutztown University a method to trade office equipment between offices and departments. All items offered for trade must be for free. Personal items may NOT be offered. Announcements for personal financial gain are NOT permissible. Items offered on this list cannot be donated or claimed for personal use by any KU employee in accordance with the Commonwealth Adverse Interest Law as interpreted by PASSHE. Items must be intended for use by another KU department. Items which are broken, obsolete or of no value to the university should be scrapped via an I-Service work order request.

Using Freetrade

You must be a subscriber of this e-mail list to post to it (see "Subscribing to Freetrade" below).

To offer an item to the Kutztown University community:
1. E-mail "freetrade (at) mailman (dot) kutztown (dot) edu".
2. Include item name in the subject.
3. Include description of item in the body of the e-mail.
4. Include desired method for claiming item (your e-mail, your phone number or other).
5. DO NOT include any attachments with your message.

When your item has been claimed:
1. E-mail "freetrade (at) mailman (dot) kutztown (dot) edu" and indicate that the item has been claimed.
2. Contact the person who has claimed the item and determine method for transferring item in compliance with university policies.

If you would like to claim an item:
1. Follow the original post's instructions for contacting (phone, e-mail) to claim. DO NOT reply to the freetrade e-mail list.
2. If you have successfully claimed an item, you will be contacted by the person offering the item to transfer the item in compliance with university policies.

If you would like to inquire if another office has an item you need:
1. E-mail "freetrade (at) mailman (dot) kutztown (dot) edu".
2. Include "Needed:" and item name in the subject.
3. Include description of item in the body of the e-mail.
4. Include desired method for contacting you (your e-mail, your phone number or other).
5. When you have obtained the item, you may send an e-mail to "freetrade (at) mailmain (dot) kutztown (dot) edu" to indicate that the item has been obtained.

Subscribing to Freetrade

Subscribe to Freetrade by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator.

    You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.

    If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
