Standard University provided e-mail policy is :

3 months where you can change settings... (you likely never changed settings 
since this is more for programmers and technophiles...)

2 years full use and file storage... (call IT to double check and secure it)

Perm. mail forwarding to another email address (setup a email elsewhere... 
when they stop providing file storage the mail forwarding will bump it to 
your new email address)

So basically if you want to adjust any settings (doubtful) I'd suggest doing 
it within the next few weeks...

Just to be safe set yourself up a free e-mail address if you don't already 
have one and setup e-mail forwarding to that address...

You can call IT to double check but it's the same policy just about 
everywhere... and special arrangements can be made to adjust that if you 
talk to them directly.
