Ashley Singer - W Swimming
(fr. Lititz/Warwick) 

         Ashley Singer, of the women's swimming team, repeats as this week's KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week.  Singer won two individual events and swam on four victorious relays to lead the KU women to a first-place finish at the Golden Bear Invitational.  Singer was first in the 100 fly (1:00.50) and 200 fly (2:13.75) and was a member of the winning 200 free, 400 medley, 200 medley and 400 free relays.

Last Week's Action

         SAT 11/20 - at NCAA Championships (University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, Indiana) - 18th/24 - Kutztown's women's cross country team placed 18th at the NCAA Division II National Championships at the University of Southern Indiana Saturday.  KU scored 419 team points for the 18th place finish, a one-spot improvement for the Golden Bears over their previous two showings at the national event.  KU placed 19th in 2000 and 2001, the only other times the Bears had advanced to the championship.  Molly Lare (so. Bethlehem/Liberty) paced the Golden Bears, placing 51st overall with a time of 23:21.9 on the 6K course.  Madonna Patterson (so. Philadelphia/William Penn) finished 93rd and ran a 24:12.2, while Chelsea Thomas (so. Sellersville/Pennridge) was 94th in 24:12.6.  Danielle Mousley (sr. Manheim Twp./Manheim Twp.) finished 125th with a time of 24:38.8 and Stephanie Williams (fr. Harrisburg/Riverside) placed 150th in 25:16.0 to round out KU's scorers.  Adams State won the team title with 31 points.  Edinboro (PA) was second with 101.
