Athlete of the Week

Jess Brady - W Basketball
(jr. Emmaus/Emmaus) 

         Jess Brady, of the women's basketball team, is this week's KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week.  Brady scored 47 points in the team's first three games of the season, (15.7/game).  She also leads the team with 31 rebounds (10.3/game). She was named MVP of the Golden Bear Classic where KU was 2-0.

         SAT 11/19 - at NCAA Championship (Pomona, CA) 

         W: 15th/24 - KU recorded its best-ever finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships. Kutztown placed 15th out of 24 teams, bettering last year's top finish of 18th.  KU scored 364 team points. Adams State won the national title with 54 points. Indiana (PA) was the top Pennsylvania team, placing 10th (323), while Edinboro (351) was 13th. The Golden Bears were led by Julie Karaszkiewicz (fr. Boothwyn/Garnet Valley) placed 51st overall and sixth among freshmen, with a time of 23:11.3 on the 6K course.  Joanna Horstmann (fr. Downingtown/Downingtown West) was 60th overall and seventh among freshman, in 23:25.2.  Desiree Bower (jr. Bethel/Tulpehocken) finished 97th in 24:06.9. Cheryl Dingman (fr. Lansdale/North Penn ) (110th, 24:24.3) and Chelsea Thomas (jr. Sellersville/Pennridge) (124th, 24:37.4) rounded out KU's top five.  Other KU finishers included Erica Kabbeko (so. Birdsboro/Twin Valley) (132nd, 24:t 46.8) and Stephanie Williams (so. Harrisburg/Riverside) (155th, 25:28.6).
