Athlete of the Week

Kim Kelty, Women's Soccer
(sr. Levittown/Neshaminy)  

         Kim Kelty, of the women's soccer team, is this week's KU Student
Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Kelty scored a goal and recorded two assists
as KU opened the season with a 4-1 win over Lock Haven Saturday. Her goal at
the 60:58 mark stood up as the game-winner. She also assisted on an
insurance goal two minutes later.

THU 8/23 - KU 3, GOLDEY-BEACOM 0 - Greg Sassaman (jr. Blairstown/North
Warren Regional), Jake Young (so. Blandon/Fleetwood) and Chris Ponto (so.
Coatesville/Bishop Shanahan) all scored goals and Ryan Kratz (sr.
Perkiomenville/Boyertown) recorded his first shutout of the 2007 season.
Kratz made four saves in the win, and Rusty Chapel (so. Topton/Brandywine)
assisted on two of KU's goals.

SAT 8/25 - LOCK HAVEN 6, KU 1 - Billy Frosoni (jr. North Plainfield,
NJ/North Plainfield) tallied the only goal for KU against the No. 19 team in
the nation on a penalty kick with 3:07 remaining in the Golden Bears' first
PSAC contest of the season.

SAT 8/25 - KU 4, Lock Haven 1 -  Kim Kelty (sr. Levittown/Neshaminy) scored
the game-winning goal and tallied two assists in KU's season opener. Kelty
assisted Carolynne Kahl (fr. Bethel/Tulpehocken) in the first half and
Xiomara Marin (so.West Paterson, NJ/Passaic Valley) in the second. Julie
Folsom (sr. Wanaque, NJ/Lakeland) added a fourth goal on a penalty kick late
in the game. Jen Tice (fr. Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional) also recorded an
assist in the win. Keeper Stefanie Bonsky (fr. Manahawkin/Southern Regional)
made seven saves and collected a win in her first collegiate game.
