Athlete of the Week

Kyle Spotts, football
(sr. Tamaqua/Tamaqua)

 

        Kyle Spotts, of the football team, is this week's KU Student
Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Spotts helped KU defeat Millersville 26-23 in
triple overtime. He ran for the game-winning touchdown, which was one of his
three rushing scores. He also was 15-for-34 passing for 147 yards.

      FRI 11/9-SAT 11/10 - PSAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (at Shippensburg)

      FRI 11/9 - Edinboro 3, KU 2 - KU rallied to win game four and jumped
out to a 4-0 lead in game five, but a 7-1 run helped Edinboro close out KU
3-2 in the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
Championships at Shippensburg. KU won game one 32-30, but two straight
losses of 30-28 and 30-27 handed Edinboro (26-9) a 2-1 lead. The Golden
Bears evened the match at 2 with a 30-25 win before falling 15-9 in the
final game. Lindsay Confer (fr. Wingate/Bald Eagle Area) led the Golden
Bears with 18 kills and Erin Waters (sr. Waymart/Western Wayne) had 12.
Their combined 30 of KU's 53 kills were not enough to overcome Edinboro's 74
kills. Austin Kinney (jr. Landisville/Hempfield) had 43 assists and 14 digs.
Nicole Biuso (sr. Centereach, N.Y./Ward Melville) had a team-high 19 digs.
Jamie Celia (fr. Douglassville/Daniel Boone) and Kaitlyn Cunliffe (fr.
Levittown/Pennsbury) also had double-digit digs with 16 and 12,
respectively. Cunliffe also had four service aces, while Celia had three.
