KUTZTOWN, PA - Four players scored touchdowns for Kutztown, to lead the Golden Bears to a 29-12 win over Cheyney in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division season finale for both teams.

Maurice Adams rushed for 89 yards on 19 carries. Tyler Dinnis had 35 yards and a TD on eight rushes, while Travis Barron scored one of his two carries. Shane Martin completed 7-of-12 passes for 78 yards and two TDs, one to Larry Baumgardner and the other to James Brooks.

Kutztown took advantage of several Wolf miscues on bad punt snaps. The Golden Bears recorded a safety, a TD on the ensuing free kick, and another touchdown, all after bad snaps went over Cheyney punter John Riley's head. KU's Drew Hicks also blocked another Wolf punt.

Lamar Hyson completed 7-of-11 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown, while Chioso Okoro rushed for 70 yards on 16 carries for the Wolves.

Kutztown took the opening kickoff and marched 60 yards on 12 plays, including 10 rushes for 43 yards by Adams. Martin connected with Brooks from 14 yards out to cap the scoring drive, but the PAT failed, leaving the score 6-0 with 9:45 left in the first.

On Cheyney's first possession of the second quarter, sacks by Scott Smith and Nick Cresta backed the Wolves up to their own eight yardline. Attempting to punt, Riley took a high snap and was immediately swarmed by KU defenders. Leroy Azubuike finally pushed him out of the back of the end zone for a safety and an 8-0 lead with 11:42 left in the half.

Kutztown took the ensuing free kick and marched 53 yards on nine plays, culminating in Martin's second TD, this a 16 yarder to Larry Baumgardner. The TD was Baumgardner's eight of the season. Adams had 38 more yards on the drive.

Cheyney opened the second half with the ball, but on fourth and three at the 48, the Wolves lined up to punt. The snap sailed over Riley's head. He caught up with it at the 12 yardline and kicked it out of bounds, but was flagged for an illegal kick. KU took over at the Cheyney six. Adams gained five yards on first down, the Barron barreled in on the next play for a 22-0 lead with 12:35 left in the third.

The Wolves finally got a clean punt off after its next possession, with KU taking over at its own 27. Dinnis keyed the drive, rushing eight times for 35 yards, including the final three with 1:17 left in the third for a 29-0 lead.

Cheyney scored twice in the fourth quarter, first on a 63-yard pass from Hyson to Tyree Cooper, and the second on a 15-yard pass from Derrick Murry to Xavier Blackwell with just 2:07 left.

Greg Mitchell led the defense in his final game for KU, with six tackles and his first career interception. Azubuike had three tackles for loss and a sack. LB Drew Hicks, playing in his final game, had three tackles, a sack, forced fumble, blocked punt and a pass breakup.
