Kutztown (1-6, 1-3 PSAC East) 14

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – Jim Terwilliger passed for three touchdowns and
ran for another to lead East Stroudsburg to a 42-14 win over Kutztown
Saturday afternoon.
Terwilliger was 17-of-28 for 282 yards. Evan Prall caught
eight passes for 136 yards and a score, while Tim Strenfel had six
receptions for 108 yards and a TD. Prall finished with 309 all
purpose yards, including 139 kickoff return yards and 39 on punt
returns.

Tony Bria led Kutztown with 97 yards on 19 carries. Kyle
Spotts was 10-of-25 for 86 yards. James Brooks caught four passes for
40 yards. KU’s offense was held out of the end zone for the second
straight game, and now has a 13-quarter streak without an offensive TD.
The Golden Bears got on the board first when Nick Cresta intercepted a
Terwilliger pass that was tipped by Leroy Azubuike. Cresta returned
the ball 25 yards to the ESU five yardline, but fumbled into the end
zone where Scott Smith recovered for a KU touchdown. Ryan Nye bobbled
the snap on the ensuing PAT, but scooped it up and outran the
defenders to the end zone for a two-point conversion.

ESU scored early in the second. Terwilliger capped a five play, 81
yard drive with an eight yard QB scramble for a score. The Warriors
took the lead on a four-yard pass from Terwilliger to Tim Strenfel
with 4:27 left in the half.
In the third quarter, ESU went on a seven play, 75 yard drive, capped
by a 23 yard screen pass from Terwilliger to Carfagno.
Matt Scartozzi booted a pair of field goals, from 37 and 30 yards, to
get within 21-14 with 4:35 left in the third. The second field goal
came after Drew Hicks forced a fumble and Michael Baldwin recovered it.
ESU answered, when Evan Prall returned the ensuing kickoff 66
yards to the KU 32. Carfagno dove in from two yards out seven plays
later.

On the next play from scrimmage, Spotts was picked off by
Tyree Townes, who returned it 34 yards for a touchdown with 42 seconds
left in the third.

Prall caught a 17 yard pass for a TD with 5:43 left to cap the
scoring.

Michael Baldwin led the KU defense with 10 tackles.

Kutztown returns to University Field next Saturday when it
hosts Millersville at 1:05 PM for homecoming.
