KUTZTOWN, PA - Juan Jones rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns, including the game winner in the fourth quarter, to lead Millersville to a 23-20 win over Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest.

Jones carried the ball 40 times for the Marauders and scores of 2, 15 and 19 yards. The 19 yarder came with 5:13 left in the fourth quarter. Jones broke a tackle at the line of scrimmage, then scampered the rest of the way untouched to make it 23-20 as the PAT kick was blocked.

Kutztown's comeback hopes were stopped by a swarming Marauder defense, as backup QB Shane Martin was sacked four times on the Golden Bears final two possessions. Martin came in the game in the fourth quarter after starting QB Kyle Spotts was injured on another MU sack.

Millersville's defense limited KU to 71 total yards, recovered four fumbles and sacked KU quarterbacks seven times.

Dan Csencsitz completed 19-of-26 passes for 214 yards. Randall Eggleton had nine catches for 107 yards for MU (4-5, 2-2 PSAC East). Chris Donati had eight tackles, while Matt Buck had six tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Maurice Adams rushed for 38 yards on 16 carries for Kutztown (1-7, 1-4 PSAC East). Kutztown had fumble returns for touchdowns by Mark Irwin and Drew Hicks, and a pair of field goals by Matt Scartozzi. LB Tom Cressman had 10 tackles, including a sack. Brian Bingnear had nine tackles, while Hicks added nine tackles and two tackles for loss. Irwin had four stops, two for loss and a sack.

Kutztown scored its first 10 points botched punt attempts. The snap on the first punt attempt sailed over Ryan Huber's head and KU took over at the MU 10 yardline. Scartozzi kicked a 29 yard field goal three plays later at the 11:38 mark of the first quarter.

Jones gave MU a lead with a two yard run to cap a 12-play, 80-yard drive. Later, the Marauders tried to punt again early in the second, but the snap again sailed over Huber's head. He recovered and tried to punt, but lost the ball at the Millersville two. It was scooped up by Irwin and returned two yards for a touchdown. KU led 10-7 with 10:28 to play in the first half.

Millersville scored 10 points in the final minute of the half after a pair of KU fumbles. Tony Bria was unable to field a punt at the KU 29 yardline and Brandon Shelton recovered for the Marauders. Jones went in from 15 yards out three plays later with 56 seconds left.

On the next play from scrimmage, Andrew Siggins sacked Spotts, jarring the ball loose and recovering it at the KU 17. Doug Ruhl booted a 28 yard field goal with 15 seconds left before halftime.

KU's struggling offense had -3 yards on 19 first half plays, but the Bears trailed only 17-10 at halftime.

KU closed to 17-13 after Scartozzi booted a 31 yard field goal at the 6:01 mark of the third. The score came after KU's longest drive of the day, a nine-play, 30-yard possession. It was the only possession that covered more than 15 yards on the day.

Millersville threatened to extend its lead early in the fourth quarter, driving to the KU three yardline. Linebacker Greg Mitchell, however, burst through the line on 2nd and goal, wrapped up Csencsitz before he could hand off and knocked the ball loose. Hicks scooped up the loose pigskin and returned it 89 yards untouched for a touchdown. The return equaled the second-longest fumble return in school history.
