KU FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES 2006 NEWCOMERS

KUTZTOWN, PA - The Kutztown University football coaching staff has announced its 2006 recruiting class of incoming freshmen and transfers.   

             Included in the class of newcomers are 51 players, mostly incoming freshmen.  Among the newcomers is Maurice Humphrey, a wide receiver transfer from Penn State.  Humphrey, who will be a sophomore athletically in 2006, was the Nittany Lions' second-leading receiver in 2003.   

            "I am very pleased with the recruiting class.  The coaching staff worked very hard this off season during the transition," said Raymond Monica, who was named KU's head coach in March after most of the recruiting was complete.  "I feel these young men give us a solid foundation to build on for the future." 

            Kutztown's current players will hold their annual spring intra-squad scrimmage this Saturday, April 22, at 4:00 PM.  Admission to the game is free and open to the public.
