GROSSO NAMED PSAC EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kutztown University defensive end Mike Grosso (sr. Hackettstown, NJ/Pope John), of the football team, has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Player of the Week.

 

            Returning to the site where he suffered a season-ending injury in 2004, Grosso tallied six tackles, including three for loss (-18 yards) and a sack (-12).  He also picked off his first-career interception, which set up Kutztown's second touchdown.  

 

            Through nine games, Grosso ranks second on the team with 63 tackles, including 33 solos.  He leads the Golden Bears with 14 tackles for loss (-44 yards) and 3.5 sacks (-26).  He has recovered two fumbles, broken up two passes and has one interception.  

 

            Kutztown is 4-5 overall, 2-3 in the PSAC East.  The Golden Bears conclude the 2006 season at East Stroudsburg this Saturday, Nov. 11, at 1:05 PM.
