KU's BRIAN BINGNEAR NAMED PSAC EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kutztown University's Brian Bingnear (jr. Boothwyn/Chichester), of the football team, has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week.

 

            Bingnear, a safety, recorded eight tackles, two interceptions and broke up two more passes in Kutztown's 27-10 win over Clarion on Saturday.  His second interception came deep in Kutztown territory, helping preserve the lead midway through the fourth quarter.   The interceptions were the first two of Bingnear's career.

 

                Bingnear is in his second season as a starting safety for the Golden Bears.  He has 74 tackles and five breakups over his first 2+ seasons.

 

                Kutztown, 1-0, will travel to Shippensburg this Saturday for another PSAC crossover contest.
