SPOTTS, BINGNEAR HONORED BY PSAC

 

KUTZTOWN, Pa - Kutztown University's Brian Bingnear (sr.
Boothwyn/Chichester) and Kyle Spotts (sr. Tamaqua/Tamaqua), of the football
team, have been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern
Division Players of the Week.

 

            Bingnear was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week, sharing
the honor with Bloomsburg's Jesse Cooper.  Spotts was named the Offensive
Player of the week.

 

            Bingnear tallied a career-high 22 tackles and had an
interception in Kutztown's 26-23 triple-overtime win over Millersville.
Bingnear had 13 solo tackles and 2 tackles for loss.  His 4th quarter
interception halted a Millersville drive near midfield and preserved the
20-20 tie.

 

            Spotts lifted Kutztown to the 26-23 triple-overtime victory
against Millersville with his 8-yard touchdown run in the third overtime.
It was his third rushing touchdown of the day after scoring on two runs of
1-yard each which each tied the game.  The first knotted the score at 13-13
and the second at 20-20.  Spotts finished the day 15-of-34 with 147 yards
passing and 15-for-42 yards rushing.

 

            Kutztown finished the season 5-6 overall, 2-3 in the PSAC East.
