QUILES, BINGNEAR SELECTED TO DAKTRONICS NORTHEAST REGION'S FIRST TEAM 

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Wideout Elfren Quiles (sr. New Britain, Conn./New Britain)
and defensive back Brian Bingnear (sr. Boothwyn/Chichester), of the Kutztown
University football team, were named to Daktronics Division II Football
All-Northeast Region's first team Wednesday, in voting by the region's
sports information directors.  

First team all-region honorees are now eligible for Daktronics Division II
Football All-America selection. The announcement of those All-American teams
is expected in mid-December, preceding the NCAA Division II Football
Championship, which takes place Dec. 15 in Florence, Ala.

Kutztown punter Ryan Nye (jr. Bernville/Holy Name) was named to the second
team.

Quiles led the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and was second in
Division II with 118.7 yards per game. He finished the season with a school
record 1,187 yards and eight touchdowns on 64 receptions, which were the
fourth most in school history. He had a career game against Bloomsburg with
308 yards receiving.  Quiles was a second-team All-Region selection as a
freshman in 2004 while at Merrimack.

Bingnear, who was named to the Northeast Region's second team last season,
led the PSAC in tackles with 118 total and 71 solo. Bingnear averaged 10.7
tackles per game and had four interceptions and five pass breakups.

Nye was the PSAC's top punter, averaging 41.6 yards per punt for the Golden
Bears.

Fourteen of the 26 first team players selected were from the PSAC, and
California (Pa.) led the way with five players named to the first team and
one to the second team.
