KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM RANKED 12TH

 

KUTZTOWN, PA - In the latest US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II Women's National Poll, released October 10, the Kutztown University (KU) Women Cross Country team is ranked 12th.  This 12th place ranking is the highest on record for the program.  

 

After being ranked 13th in the preseason poll, the team has been ranked either 13th or 14th before this latest improvement.  

 

Other ranked teams from the PSAC include Indiana (PA) at seventh, Edinboro at 20th and Slippery Rock and Bloomsburg who are tied for the 25th and final position.  

 

            The women have won the Kutztown Invitational and placed second at the season-opening Lehigh Valley Championships.  In their last meet, the Paul Short Invitational held September 29, the KU women ran to a 20th place finish against mostly Division I opponents.  

 

            Looking ahead, the Golden Bears will compete this Saturday at the Lafayette and DeSales Invitationals, at the East Stroudsburg Invitational October 21, before heading to the PSAC Championships at Bloomsburg University on October 28.
