KU SOFTBALL MOVES UP TO #15 IN DIVISION II

 

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kutztown University's softball team has moved up two spots in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Poll, released Thursday.

 

            Kutztown moved into a tie for 15th place, after being ranked 17th last week.  KU shares the spot with Midwestern (TX) State.  Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Lock Haven fell from first to second behind Columbus (GA) State.  Shippensburg is the only other PSAC team in the poll at #25.

 

            The Golden Bears also remained #2 in this week's Mid-Atlantic Regional behind Lock Haven.  Bloomsburg is third in that ranking, followed by Shippensburg.

 

            Kutztown is 37-13 overall, 19-1 in the PSAC East. The red-hot Golden Bears, who have won 19 straight games, will host Millersville for a doubleheader at North Campus Field on Friday at 2:30 PM.  The Golden Bears have already clinched a share of the PSAC East title and the right to host the PSAC Playoffs, May 3-5.
