SARAH GREER NAMED KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH

KUTZTOWN - Women's lacrosse is making its return to Kutztown University and
so is Sarah Greer.

Greer was named head women's lacrosse coach by Director of
Athletics Greg Bamberger. She will lead the returning sport into the 2008
season, as KU will field a women's lacrosse team for the first time since
1990.

"We're happy to welcome Sarah back to Kutztown," Bamberger
said. "She'll do a great job in leading the women's lacrosse program in its
return to Kutztown as a varsity sport."

Greer, then Sarah Wesner, was a four-year letterwinner on the KU
field hockey team from 1997-2000. She obtained her bachelor's degree in
social work in 2002. She is also a 1996 graduate of Exeter High School.

She returns to Kutztown from Gwynedd-Mercy College, where she
was the head coach of the school's field hockey team. While there, she
served as assistant coach and interim head coach of the women's lacrosse
squad. She also was the intramural and facilities coordinator and the
senior woman administrator. Her field hockey team was an NFHCA Academic
Award recipient each of her four seasons. Greer obtained her master's
degree in school counseling at Gwynedd-Mercy in 2006.

"I'm extremely excited to return to Kutztown," Greer said. "I
am looking forward to re-launching Golden Bear women's lacrosse and
reconnecting with the alumnae of the program."

Greer began coaching in the collegiate ranks as a part-time
assistant with KU's field hockey team in 2001, under the direction of her
mother, Betty Wesner, who is the head field hockey coach at KU.

Greer's first full-time coaching job came as an assistant field
hockey and lacrosse coach at Earlham College, in Richmond, Ind., in 2002.

At Kutztown, she was the field hockey team captain and coach's
award winner in 2000. She also was a nominee for the N4A Student-Athlete
Achievement Award and the Honda Inspiration Award that season. She was a
member of the 1997 team that competed at the NCAA Division II Championships,
finishing as the national runner-up. In 1999, Greer was the team's
second-leading scorer, tying for the team lead in assists. Greer served on
Kutztown's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee executive board as secretary.

Greer and her husband, Samuel, a Philadelphia firefighter and
marine reservist, reside in Philadelphia with their daughter, Riley
Catherine, who was born in January.

The women's lacrosse program was sponsored at Kutztown from
1975-90 and was responsible for the first women's championship in school
history, winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title in 1982.
The sport is currently sponsored by 40 NCAA Division II institutions,
including eight others in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
In 2009, Gannon University and Mercyhurst College will join the PSAC to make
an 11-team league.
