KUTZTOWN RANKED 53rd IN DIRECTOR's CUP STANDINGS

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - With the Kutztown University women's field hockey and
volleyball teams finishing in the top 20 nationally, the Golden Bears posted
75 points to tie for 53rd in Division II in the final fall U.S. Sports
Academy Director's Cup standings.  A total of 124 Division II institutions
scored points during the fall season.  

The field hockey team, which finished 17-5 overall, finished fifth in the
nation. The Golden Bears started the season 10-0 and finished with a 17-1
record outside its four games against the Division II National Champion
Bloomsburg Huskies.

The volleyball team set a school record for wins with 28 and advanced to the
Atlantic Regionals where the Golden Bears went 1-1. They finished 17th
overall.

The U.S. Sports Academy Director's Cup was developed as a joint effort
between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and
the USA Today. The points are awarded based on each institution's finish in
up to 14 sports - seven women's and seven men's.

The race for the Director's Cup continues with the winter and spring sports
seasons in 2008.
