KUTZTOWN'S BEN, DENNIS HONORED BY PSAC

 

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kutztown University's Dave Ben (so. Coatesville/Coatesville HS) and Stephen Dennis (fr. West Chester/Henderson HS) have been honored by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with weekly honors.

 

            Ben was named the PSAC East Co-Player of the Week, while Dennis was named the PSAC East Rookie of the Week.

 

            Ben averaged 25.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as Kutztown won a pair of league games.  He started the week by scoring 23 points, grabbing seven rebounds and picking four steals vs. East Stroudsburg.  He then helped his squad avenge an early season loss, netting 27 points in a double-overtime win at West Chester.  Ben shared the honor with West Chester's Aaron Williams.  Through 21 games, Ben is averaging 20.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.  
            

            Dennis played a key role in Kutztown's 2-0 week by averaging 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals.  In a win at West Chester, he scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebound and doled out five assists.  This is the sixth time this season that Dennis has been named the PSAC East Rookie of the Week.  Through 21 games, Dennis is averaging 14.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

 

            Kutztown is 15-6 overall, 4-3 in the PSAC East this season.  The Golden Bears return to action on Wednesday when they host Mansfield at Keystone Hall.  Tipoff is at 8:00 PM.
