KU BASEBALL TEAM ACHIEVES HIGHEST-EVER NATIONAL RANKING

 

KUTZTOWN, PA - The undefeated Kutztown University baseball team achieved its highest-ever ranking in the NCAA Division II Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll, released earlier this week.  

 

            Kutztown is tied for fifth in the latest rankings, up four spots from last week's poll.  KU is tied with Florida Southern.  KU's previous best came in the 2004 season, when Kutztown was slated at number eight in the second-to-last poll of the season.  KU finished the year ninth.  

 

            Also released this week was the first regular season National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll.  Kutzton is rated #4, also its highest-ever ranking in that poll. 

 

            The Golden Bears, under fifth-year head coach Chris Blum, are 8-0 so far in 2007, coming off a 4-0 performance at the Apprentice School Builder Invitational last weekend.
