KUTZTOWN BASEBALL RANKED 11TH IN PRESEASON POLL

KUTZTOWN, PA - The Kutztown University baseball team is ranked 11th in the NCAA Division II Pre-Season Poll according to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

            Tampa is projected to finish first.  Georgia College & St. is ranked second and Cal. St. Chico third.  Franklin Pierce is slated ahead of Kutztown in 10th and Grand Valley State is ranked 12th.  West Chester, California (PA) and Slippery Rock are other Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schools in the poll.  West Chester is ranked 19th, California 29th and Slippery Rock is tied at 39th.

            The Golden Bears are under the direction of fifth year head coach Chris Blum.  Last season, Kutztown finished with a school record 44 wins and 14 losses.  Last season also contained a 16 game-winning streak.  The Golden Bears were crowned the PSAC Champions and advanced to the NCAA North Atlantic Regionals.  KU was won win shy of advancing to the NCAA Championships.

            Kutztown gets its season underway on February 10-11 when it travels to Barton.
