TWO GOLDEN BEARS RECEIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS 

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kutztown University's Stephen Dennis (fr. West Chester/Henderson) and Vivian Melvin (fr. Chichester/Chichester) received Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) basketball Rookie of the Week honors.

            Dennis received his third PSAC Men's Rookie of the Week for the eastern division.  He had a double-double against Clarion with 17 points and 14 rebounds.  He also had two blocks.  Against Indiana (PA), he scored six points, had seven assists and six steals.  Through 13 games, Dennis is averaging12.8 points per game, 5.5 rebounds games and has 17 blocks.

Melvin was named the PSAC East Women's Rookie of the Week.  She averaged 10 points in games against Indiana (PA) and Clarion.  She added nine rebounds and six steals in the two losses.  So far, Melvin is averaging 7.7 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game and has 24 assists.

Both teams open PSAC East action Wednesday when West Chester comes to KU.  The Women are set to tip-off at 6:00 PM followed by the men at 8:00 PM.
