FOUR GOLDEN BEAR WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYERS RECEIVE POSTSEASON HONORS

 

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Four members of the Kutztown University women's soccer team
were honored by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) as the
postseason awards were released Wednesday.  In addition, one player received
All-Region honors by Daktronics.  

                Kim Kelty (sr. Levittown/Neshaminy) and Chelsea Deeter (fr.
Langhorne/Neshaminy) were named All-PSAC East first-team honors..

                Diana Hopper (so. New York, NY/Ramapo) and Jen Tice (fr.
Barnegat, N.J./Southern Regional) were named to the All-PSAC East second
team. 

                Hopper, who had a goal and five assists from the midfield
position, also was named to the Daktronics Inc. All-Northeast Region's
second team.

                Kelty, who was named to the PSAC's first team all four years
at KU, finished the season with six goals and 11 assists this season. Her 11
assists were a school record. She also led the team with three game-winning
goals.

                Deeter anchored the Golden Bears' defense, starting in 18
games this season, helping KU post six shutouts.

                Tice, who suffered a late-season injury, scored two goals
and three assists in 14 games. She also had a game-winning goal.

                KU finished the season 10-6-3, posting its sixth straight
10-plus-win season.
