FOUR GOLDEN BEARS EARN ALL-PSAC EAST VOLLEYBALL HONORS

 

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its
postseason women's volleyball awards Tuesday with four members of Kutztown
University's team receiving honors.

            Middle Hitter Erin Waters (sr. Waymart/Western Wayne) and setter
Austin Kinney (jr. Landisville/Hempfield) were named to the All-PSAC East
first team, while opposite-side hitter Katie Miller (so.
Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) and libero Nicole Biuso (sr. Centereach,
N.Y./Ward Melville) were selected to the Eastern Division's second team.

            Kinney, who was named to the second team in 2005 and 2006, has
1,119 assists pushing her school-record career total to 3,406. She also
recorded 341 digs and 29 service aces. She is fourth in the conference with
11.3 assists per game.

            Waters, a second team selection in 2006, is second on the team
in kills with 389 and blocks with 126. She leads the PSAC in hitting
percentage at .361.

            Biuso earned her second straight second team honor with her
school-record 828 digs, which are a PSAC-best. She leads the conference with
6.42 per game. Biuso is KU's all-time leader in digs with 2,226 and service
aces with 158.

            Miller finished the season with 307 kills and 80 blocks to earn
her first All-PSAC honors.

            KU's postseason continues Thursday at the NCAA Division II
Atlantic Regionals in California, Pa. The Golden Bears (27-9) will play
Shippensburg (30-11) at 5 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals.
