KU's Kinney Named PSAC East Player of the Week

 

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Austin Kinney (jr. Landisville/Hempfield), with her 202
assists in five matches last week, was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference East Player of the Week.

 

Kinney, who has averaged 11.5 assists per game this season, helped the
Kutztown University women's volleyball team to a 3-2 record last week and
8-2 overall.

 

Kinney now has 426 assists on the season, moving her into second place
all-time with a career total of 2,713. She's 471 assists away from the KU
career record of 3,184 assists, set by Yvonne Shimp (1994-97).

 

She also is third on the team with 114 digs this season. Kinney and the
Golden Bears will be back in action Tuesday at Cheyney in KU's first PSAC
East game of the season. The match starts at 7 p.m.
