KU'S DART WINS PSAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Jim Dart (sr. Havertown/Haverford), of the Kutztown University men's indoor track and field team, was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Bison Open last weekend.
Dart set a school record with his first-place throw of 54-2 in the shot put on Friday, surpassing Josh Himmelberger's throw of 53-7 in 1998. The throw, which placed him in seventh on the NCAA Division II performance list, also was the best to date by any athlete in the PSAC.
At Bucknell on Saturday, he added a third-place finish in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 52-8¼.
Dart and the KU indoor track and field team will be back in action on Feb. 7 at the Susquehanna Invitational and at the New York Games (split squad events).
