VAN WAGNER, WEIDENSAUL NAMED TO ALL-PSAC EAST TEAM
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Mercedes Van Wagner (sr. Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) added one more note to her resume by being selected to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division first team Tuesday.
Rachel Weidensaul (sr. Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) also was honored by the conference, earning a spot on the Eastern Division's second team.
Van Wagner, a preseason first-team selection, was third on the team in scoring with 8.9 points per game. She was second on the team in rebounding with 7.4 per game.
The senior center, who finished her career at KU as the school's leading rebounder and shot blocker, was the team's top shooter, making 93-of-186 (50.0 percent) of her attempts from the field.
Weidensaul, a 6-foot guard, tied for the team lead in scoring with 9.9 points per game. She shot 37.0 percent from beyond the arc, finishing third on the team with 27 3-pointers.
KU finished the season 11-16 overall and 4-8 in the PSAC East.
