RUMMEL NAMED PSAC EAST PITCHER OF THE WEEK
KUTZTOWN, PA- Kutztown University senior pitcher Philip Rummel (Exeter/West-Mont Christian) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Pitcher of the Week for his efforts on the mound this past week.
Rummel went 2-0 on the week, picking up victories on Monday against Philadelphia University and against Bloomsburg on Sunday. He threw 13 innings, and allowing 13 hits, and two earned runs.
On Monday against Philadelphia, he fanned ten batters in seven innings and struck out five batters against Bloomsburg on Sunday, giving him a strikeout to walk ratio of 15-to-1 on the week. Opponents  hit only .254 off the right hander in the two victories.
Rummel is now 4-1 on the season with a 4.15 ERA, and has fanned 28 batters in 30.1 innings.
KU (12-12, 2-2 PSAC East) will next be in action Tuesday as it will host Lincoln University in a double header from North Campus Field. The first pitch is scheduled for noon.
