After a scoreless ninth, Fink, a 5-7 second baseman, started the 10th with a bomb off the scoreboard.
TUE 3/8 - KU 11, California (PA) 2 - Mike McCardell (so. West Chester/Henderson) struck out nine in seven scoreless innings and Phil Cavalcante (sr. Norristown/Kennedy Kenrick) hit his first career home run as the Golden Bears downed California (PA), 11-2. McCardell allowed just three hits in his seven innings of work. Cavalcante's three-run blast came in the midst of a six-run seventh inning for KU. It was preceded by back-to-back RBI doubles from Kyle Costello (jr. Plains/Coughlin) and Loper. Costello and Loper had back-to-back run scoring singles in the first to give the Golden Bears the lead. Costello had two doubles in four at-bats and scored twice. WED 3/9 - KU 8, California (PA) 4 - Keller tossed a complete game as the Golden Bears banged out 13 hits, and KU toppled California (PA) 8-4 at the Savannah Invitational. Loper continued his hot hitting, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in. Craig and Scott Senna (sr. North Plainfield, NJ/North Plainfield) were both 2-for-4. Both players, as well as Kucklick, doubled. Kutztown jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first behind a two-run single by Loper. After the Vulcans knotted the game in the bottom of the inning, Kutztown plated the winning runs in their half of the second. Kuklick and Senna stroked back-to-back RBI doubles with two outs in the inning. The Golden Bears put the game away in the ninth with a pair of runs. Stricker walked, advanced on an error and later scored on a wild pitch. Kuklick also scored in the inning on a squeeze play. With the win, KU continued its dominance over the Vulcans. It was the third time in four days the teams had met at the Savannah Invitational, with the Golden Bears outscoring Cal 26-7 in the three contests. It was also Kutztown's fourth straight win overall, and eighth in its last nine games.
