TUE 3/22 - KU 4, ADELPHI 1 - Mike McCardell (so. West Chester/Henderson) fanned nine in eight innings of work, as the Golden Bears topped Adelphi, 4-1. McCardell (3-1) allowed just five hits and a walk and overcame five KU errors to surrender just one unearned run. The Golden Bears scored all four of their runs in the first two innings. In the first, Josh Fink (jr. Hatfield/North Penn) led off with an infield single and John Shade (so. Reading/Muhlenberg) walked. Paul Koropchak (sr. Pottsville/North Schuylkill) and Ryan Loper (so. A wild pitch and an errant throw by the Panthers' catcher let Stricker come home, and Shade hit a sacrifice fly to score Fink. Matt Keller (jr. Fleetwood/Fleetwood) struck out three of the four batters he faced in the ninth to notch his first save of the season. Fink went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.
