WED 2/23 - KU 73, KU 56 - Bilal Salaam (sr. Wilmington, DE/Howard) scored 22 points to lead Kutztown to a key 73-56 victory over Millersville in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action Wednesday night. Salaam hit 8-of-10 field goals and added seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Bobby Eberhart (sr. Lancaster/McCaskey) scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Dorian Sims (so. Reading/Reading) scored 13 points. Ben Arnold (jr. Philadelphia/Christian Academy) had 10 points and hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds. Kutztown set the tone early in each half against Millersville, scoring the first eight points of the game, and the first 12 points of the second half. Salaam had six points in the opening run and five in the second-half burst. A 14-3 Marauder run got them back into the contest, and with 4:24 to play, the lead was just six, 56-50. KU answered with a layup by Arnold, a three pointer by Ty Brickus (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) and a monster dunk by Salaam to go back up by 13 with 2:40 to play. The Bears then connected on 10-of-12 free throws, including 7-of-8 by Sims, to secure the win.

SAT 2/26 - KU 78, EAST STROUDSBURG 77 (OT) - A Sims floater in the lane with nine seconds left lifted the Golden Bears to a dramatic 78-77 overtime win against East Stroudsburg in a PSAC East contest that determined the winner of the final conference playoff berth. Sims, who scored six of his 10 points in overtime, was one of five Golden Bears in double figures. Brickus paced Kutztown with 16 points. Frank Moultrie (jr. Southampton/William Tennent) and Eberhart scored 12 each and Arnold added 11. Eberhart pulled down nine rebounds to lead Kutztown and Salaam blocked three shots. KU led 34-33 at halftime, and the second half would be just as tight with seven ties and four lead changes. ESU sent the game to overtime with a layup with three seconds left. ESU tipped in a missed three to give the Warriors their first lead in overtime, 76-74, with 1:12 to play. Sims was fouled on the next possession and hit one free throw to cut the lead to one. Arnold got the rebound off the missed second shot and got the ball back to Sims, who was again fouled and hit one of two to tie the score with 45 seconds left. KU fouled on the next Warrior possession, but ESU made just one of two to set up Sims' game-winning shot. With the win, Kutztown captured the fourth seed in the East for the PSAC playoffs.
