Scott Arnold - M Swimming
(so. York/Northeastern) 

         Scott Arnold, of the men's swimming team, is this week's KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week.  Arnold was a member of the 200 medley and 200 free relays teams that were victorious over Edinboro. Arnold also won two-single events,  the 100 and 200 fly, in 56.59 and 2:08.44.

Last Week's Action

SAT 11/12 - KU traveled to Edinboro and defeated the fighting Scots 150-107. The 200 medley relay of Dan Pfost (sr. Kutztown/Kutztown), Steve McNeely (jr. Glenolden/Monsignor Bonner), Scott Arnold (so. York/Northeastern) and Rich Reshetar (jr. Pipersville/Central Bucks East) won in 1:40.32. The 200 free relay team of Dan Schoor (so. Warminster/Central Bucks East), Reshetar, Derek Orr (fr. Easton/Easton) and Arnold, was also victorious in 1:31.71. McNeely, Arnold and Pfost were all double event winners. McNeely won the 100 and 200 breast (1:02.85, 2:22.86) while Arnold won the 100 and 200 fly (56.59, 2:08.44) and Pfost won the 200 back (2:05.08) and the 200 IM (2:06.96). Orr also was an event winner in the 200 free (1:52.23).

Last Week's Action

SAT 11/12 - The Golden Bears traveled to Edinboro to compete against the Scots and the Mountaineers of Mansfield. KU lost to Edinboro 64-58, but defeated Mansfield, 99-23. The 200 free relay was victorious for KU. Kelly Rowan (jr. Clifton Heights/Upper Darby), Jill Pantelides (fr. Lansdowne/Arch Prendergast), Nikki Cattell (so. Warminster/William Tennent) and Meghan Fenningham (sr. Philadelphia/Nazareth Academy) swam a 1:42.89. Ashley Singer (so. Lititz/Warwick) and Rowan each won two events. Singer won the 200 and 500 free (1:59.23, 5:16.02) while Rowan won the 50 and 100 free (25.58, 55.47)

Last Week's Action

SAT 11/12 - KU opened its season with a tough loss to Montclair State, 26-17. The match came down to the 285 weight class where Montclair State's heavyweight pinned Andy Freas (jr. Trexlertown/Emmaus) in the third OT. Brandon Clemmer (so. Pottstown/Upper Perkiomen) was a winner at 133 by a fall. Brett Martinez (fr. Slatington/Northern Lehigh) won 10-5 at 141. At 157, Kevin Kalback (jr. Downingtown/Downingtown) won 3-2 and Ryan Wasser (sr. Northampton/Northampton) won at 174 by a technical fall, 18-3 (7:00).
