Ben Arnold, of the men's basketball team, is this week's KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Arnold scored a career high 19 points and had a career high 19 rebounds in the team's first win of the season against Wilmington.

TUE 11/22 - KUTZTOWN 81, WILMINGTON 80 - Dorian Sims (jr. Reading/Central Catholic) sank two free throws with 6.5 seconds left to lift KU to its first victory of the season, 81-80, over Wilmington College. Sims scored all 10 of his points in the second half and eight in the final 4:00. David Ben (r-fr. Coatesville/Coatesville) scored 20 points, all in the first half, to lead all players. Ben Arnold (sr. Philadelphia/Christian Academy) had a career high 19 points and a career high 19 rebounds. Bruce Hall (sr. Cheltenham/Cheltenham) scored 17 points, while Frank Moultrie (sr. Southampton/William Tennent) added 13 points.

TUE 11/22 - New Jersey Tech 49, Kutztown 40 - Kutztown scored just 19 points in the second half to fall to New Jersey Tech, 49-40, suffering its first loss of the season. KU had just two players in double figures, as Megan Bainbridge (jr. Minersville/Nativity BVM) and Jess Brady (jr. Emmaus/Emmaus) scored 11 points each. Monique Boykins (sr. Yeadon/Penn Wood) had 12 rebounds. KU scored just seven field goals in the second half, shooting an ice-cold 26.9% (7-26) from the field.

WED 11/23 - 1st/8 - KUTZTOWN INVITATIONAL - The Golden Bears had eight first-place finishes as they won the Kutztown Invitational with 105 points. Montclair State was second with 54 points and Williamson Trade was third with 51 points. Billy Stenack (so. Northampton/Northampton) started the first-place finishes for KU with a 7-2 win at 125. Brett Martinez (fr. Slatington/Northern Lehigh) won at 141, 9-1. Dom Sabia (sr. Conshohocken/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) continued the first-place finishes with a 6-2 decision at 149. At 157, Kevin Kalbach (jr. Downingtown/Downingtown) won 6-5. Jon Shaffer (sr. Conshohocken/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) defeated fellow teammate Brandon Horlick (so. Bethlehem/Freedom), 4-3, at 165. Ryan Wasser (sr. Northampton/Northampton) won at 174, 3-1. Bret Wade (sr. Phoenixville/Phoenixville) won, 6-2, at 184 and Curtis Beardsell (r-fr. Warminster/William Tennent) won a close one, 1-0, at 197. KU also had a number of other place winners. Brandon Clemmer (so. Pottstown/Upper Perkiomen) pinned his opponent in 0:32 for third place at 133. Chris Chambers (fr. Holland/Counsil Rock South) placed third, winning 5-0, at 149. Kim Kershaw (so. South Orange, NJ/Columbia) also placed third, winning 12-4, at 184. Roy Gecelosky (jr. Annville/Palmyra) placed fifth at 174 and Spencer Beck (fr. Northampton/Northampton) placed sixth at 157.
